Empowered Ageing Day is a private event created exclusively for Empowered Ageing clients, who are also welcome to invite family members and close friends.
It is not a public event. It is a celebration of the people who are already part of the Empowered Ageing community — their journey, their effort, their progress, their courage and their commitment to moving, learning and growing together.
The purpose of this day is not simply to perform exercises or show choreographies. It is to inspire, motivate, build community, learn from each other and celebrate what each person has been developing through consistent practice.
Because when we watch a choreography, we often only see the final result.
But the real story is much deeper.
A movement that may look simple from the outside can represent a huge achievement for the person performing it. Without knowing where someone started, the challenges they faced, the confidence they had to build, or the time they invested in learning, it is impossible to fully understand the value of what we are seeing.
At Empowered Ageing, we believe the journey matters.
Many of the people who took part in this event started with real movement challenges. Some began with private movement coaching with Arlindo Martins for several months before they were ready to join group classes. Today, they are part of a group, learning choreographies, performing together, supporting each other and discovering what is still possible through movement.
Empowered Ageing Day is a reminder that progress is personal.
It is not about comparison.
It is not about perfection.
It is about confidence, consistency, courage, connection and growth.
Video 1 — Empowered Ageing Day 2026 Summary
This first video is a short summary of what happened during Empowered Ageing Day 2026.
Throughout the day, we shared movement games, dance and Animal Flow demonstrations, music with Luís Antunes, and we sang the Empowered Ageing anthem together.
We also presented the inspiring case study results of Ken and Mike, showing the impact of the Empowered Ageing training system, and shared the story of Keith, who has been training online with Arlindo Martins for almost 10 years.
This video captures the spirit of the day: movement, music, learning, inspiration, community and joy.
Video 2 — Ken & Mike Case Study Flow
This was one of the most meaningful moments of the event.
Ken and Mike are part of the Empowered Ageing case study project. They currently train together in private duo sessions, and during Empowered Ageing Day they had the opportunity to become part of the wider group experience.
In this flow, Ken and Mike were the main focus. The rest of the Empowered Ageing clients joined them to support, encourage and celebrate their journey.
They were accompanied by Karen, Diana, Jules, António, Alison, Marianne, Eva and Maria.
This video is not only about movement. It is about inclusion, support and community. It shows what happens when people feel seen, encouraged and part of something bigger.
Ken and Mike’s case study is helping us demonstrate the impact of the Empowered Ageing training system on strength, mobility, coordination, confidence and functional movement.
Video 3 — Vital Flow Portimão Group
This Animal Flow choreography was performed by the Portimão group: Marianne, Maria, Alison, Jules, António and Diana.
At Empowered Ageing, Animal Flow is designed to support strength, mobility, coordination, balance, agility and confidence in a safe and progressive way.
Each person brings their own history, their own challenges and their own rhythm. What matters is not whether everyone moves in exactly the same way. What matters is that each person continues to learn, adapt and progress.
This performance reflects the heart of Empowered Ageing: intelligent movement, community, confidence and joy.
Video 4 — Vital Flow Lagos Group
This Animal Flow choreography was performed by the Lagos group: Jules, Alison, Karen, António and Diana.
Animal Flow is part of the Empowered Ageing training system. It combines functional movement, mobility, coordination, balance, strength, rhythm and playful movement challenges to help people move better in daily life.
The goal is not to move perfectly. The goal is to become more confident, more adaptable, more aware and more connected with the body.
For many people, this kind of group choreography represents much more than exercise. It represents memory, rhythm, coordination, courage, teamwork and the confidence to be seen moving as part of a community.
Video 5 — Advanced Animal Flow Group
This Animal Flow choreography was performed by Jules, António, Eva, Alison and Diana.
This was one of the more advanced group flows of the day. It shows how strength, mobility, coordination, rhythm, memory, agility and body awareness can develop through consistent practice.
At Empowered Ageing, we do not use Animal Flow as a one-size-fits-all system. We adapt the movements, speed, transitions and complexity according to each person’s ability, confidence and physical condition.
This performance represents progression. It shows what can happen when people practise regularly, support each other and continue to challenge themselves in a safe and intelligent way.
Video 6 — Animal Flow for Healthy Ageing
In this video, Arlindo, António and Alison perform an Animal Flow choreography during Empowered Ageing Day 2026.
Animal Flow is a ground-based movement system that develops strength, mobility, coordination, balance, body awareness and control.
At Empowered Ageing, Animal Flow is always adapted to the individual. Not everyone needs to do the same version, and not every movement is suitable for every person.
After decades of training and exploring many different movement systems, and after almost 10 years coaching people from their 60s into their 90s, Arlindo Martins has found Animal Flow to be one of the most effective and efficient training systems for improving functional movement — when it is appropriate for the individual.
This video shows that Animal Flow is not only about physical performance. It is about adaptability, confidence, creativity and learning how to move with more awareness.
Video 7 — Arlindo Martins Animal Flow Performance
In this final video, Master Instructor Arlindo Martins brings together the different choreographies shared during Empowered Ageing Day 2026.
The purpose of this performance is to show the versatility of Animal Flow.
The same movement system can be practised in a slower, simpler and more accessible way, or developed into a more fluid, dynamic and expressive flow with music, changes of direction, changes of rhythm and changes of speed.
This is one of the key principles of Empowered Ageing: movement must be adapted to the individual.
We do not force the person to fit the exercise. We adapt the exercise to support the person.
This performance is a celebration of movement, creativity, adaptability and what becomes possible when we keep learning, practising and growing.
More Than a Day — A Reflection of a Journey
Empowered Ageing Day 2026 was more than an event.
It was a celebration of people who choose to keep moving, keep learning and keep investing in their health and quality of life.
It was a reminder that ageing does not have to mean giving up on strength, confidence, coordination, rhythm, playfulness or personal growth.
It was also a reminder that the right environment matters.
When people feel safe, supported and inspired, they are more willing to try, to practise, to make mistakes, to improve and to believe in what is still possible.
At Empowered Ageing, movement is not only about the body.
It is about health, confidence, independence, connection, purpose and community.
Wherever you are in your movement journey, start today.
Move more.
Reconnect with your body.
Surround yourself with people who inspire you.
And keep growing.
